Posted on December 09 2014

The Holiday season is here and in full effect, and we want to help you pick out that perfect 'do to complete your holiday look! Whether it's for Christmas dinner or a New Year's party, this guide will help you pick a gorgeous yet simple style that you can do yourself!

We've compiled the Top 5 Holiday 'Dos from some of the hottest bloggers in the industry. Check them out below!

1. Halo Crown/Goddess Braid

The Halo Crown, or Goddess Braid, is a favorite amongst many naturals for the elegance that this hairstyle has. It's super simple, and is the perfect style for a dressy or casual look. This style can be done on most lengths and all textures. Some prefer to blow-out their hair prior to doing this style for a more sleek look, however it can be done without blowing your hair out. Ms Danti created a beautiful Halo Crown, perfect for the holidays! Check it out here:

2. Spiral Curls/Rod Set

We all know and love the classic spiral curl look! Many of us grew up getting that infamous rod set because it was quick, easy, beautiful, and long-lasting! It's also a gorgeous option for your holiday look. Mahogany Curls completed her spiral curl look with the aid of Curlformers, however, you can achieve the same or similar look with flexirods, bantu knots, a curling wand, or perm rods.

3. Buns

A bun can be styled on medium to long hair, and even on short hair by adding extensions, such as marley hair. If you're looking for a simple, elegant, chic holiday look, you can't go wrong with the timeless bun. The natural hair community has gotten so creative that we couldn't just show you one bun, because there are so many varieties! But here is a look at a few of the most popular that we think would fit the holiday look you're going for.

3a-Low Bun: Ms. Alicia James is always so creative with her beautiful hairstyles! She came up with 3 versions of the low bun that are to die for! See them here:

4. Updos

The possibilities are truly endless when it comes to updo styles! You can create styles with your hair by bunning, braiding, or twisting, and of course you'll need plenty bobby pins. You can also create great updos with hair extensions such as marley hair. Marley hair has become a go-to hair extension within the Natural Hair community because it has such a similar texture to our natural hair, and it is very affordable.
